Awardee of the month
Sport is life, bringing together a symphony of emotions to those on the field, and to supporters off it. Nothing beats the feeling of the joy in victory, except the soul shattering dagger of defeat.
But its the love of sport that continues to drive, motivate and inspire sportsmen and women, of all ages...to continue in that pursuit of glory.
Sport, as in life, has many forces against it, often times propelling it to the depths of despair.
One such force is that of a silent killer, a deadly one, Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is a condition in which the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating.
SCA stops blood flow to the brain and other vital organs, and if not treated within minutes there is a less then 10% survival rate.
The Rotary Cardiac Sports Program was started to assist our community to be more aware, more prepared,
and better trained in the battle against SCA.
